Stillness within the rush at MESHKI

Fashion may seem glamorous, but at its core it's hard work.

In an industry that rarely slows down, carving out space for yourself isn't always easy. Breathwork sessions with wearehollistics have become one of my favourite ways to do exactly that.

Breathing. Our most fundamental life source, and yet somehow the first thing we forget about.

I love starting the day without rushing into stress, so the 9am session suits me perfectly. One small tip if you're trying morning breathwork: hold off on your coffee until afterwards. I know it sounds counterintuitive, but it genuinely keeps your energy more balanced. Worth trying at least once.

Walking into the studio, we were greeted by Holly, warm, calm, and exactly the kind of presence you want when you're about to slow down. The lights were dim, soft instrumental music played in the background, and as we rolled out our yoga mats, the outside world started to quiet. No rules, no pressure. Shoes off, sit up or lie down, whatever felt right. We all chose to lie down.

Holly offered a drop of peppermint oil on each of our wrists. We breathed it in slowly, and the session began. What followed was surprisingly powerful in the quietest way. Holly guided us through breathing exercises gently, and whenever our minds wandered, she brought us back without any urgency.

At one point, Holly asked us to set an intention for the day. Mine was simple: don't stress. Lately, between deadlines, launches and an ever-growing to-do list, it's easy to feel overwhelmed before the day has even started. Having that moment to pause and name what I needed made a real difference. There's something I struggle to put into words about the sensation of a full, conscious breath. It felt like a weight lifted from my chest, one inhale at a time.

We were slowly eased back into the room, feeling a little lighter, a little clearer. In an environment that moves this fast, a slow morning feels like a gift. Even for the 20 minutes I was able to relax, it set me up for a perfect day.

I left grateful, not just for the session, but for the reminder that pausing is always worth it.
